What is a Martingale?
John R. Thomas, CFA is Vice Chairman of Martingale. He is responsible for Martingale’s business development outside the United States. Prior to joining Martingale in 2010, John had a 34-year career at J.P. Morgan, including eight years on the executive committee, five years as president of J.P. Morgan Trust Bank (Japan) and ten years as head of its institutional marketing division. Most recently, John has been active as an independent consultant in investment management, with a focus on Japan-U.S. activities.
John holds a B.A. in economics from Ohio Wesleyan University and an M.B.A. with distinction in finance from the Wharton School. He is a CFA charterholder and a member of the CFA Society of San Francisco. John is a Trustee of the university endowment for Ohio Wesleyan University. He is also a board member of the Japan Society of Northern California.
